Big Pitch represents the culmination of weeks of dedication, creativity, and perseverance throughout the JA Company Program year. This signature event gives students the opportunity to step into the spotlight and showcase the businesses they have built to a room full of industry leaders, community supporters, and future mentors. 

On April 29, 2026, 13 student companies presented their ventures at MacEwan University’s Triffo Theatre, proudly sponsored by MacEwan University. In front of an audience of 240 attendees, students delivered investor-style presentations and responded to questions from a panel of six judges, demonstrating the knowledge, confidence, and growth they developed throughout the program. 

Each presentation reflected countless hours of teamwork, problem-solving, innovation, and determination. Students shared not only their products and business strategies but also the lessons learned through challenges and successes along the way. 

This year’s top performing companies were recognized for their outstanding achievements: Amoria received first place, followed by Slime Swipe from the Fort McMurray team in second place, and Scent & Story in third place. 

More than a competition, Big Pitch celebrates what happens when young people are trusted with real opportunities. It showcases their ability to think creatively, communicate effectively, and build solutions that have the potential to make an impact.
